The special renewable Energy Act in Germany permits energy users to receive preferential tariffs for solar generated powersupply depending on the nature and size of the project. Under the new law scheme which was introduced in 2004, the base level of compensation for solar systems can be up to 45.7 euro cents/kWh. Photovoltaik installations on housing receive rates of up to 57.4 euro cents/kWh.
The tariffs for approved renewable energy installations are for a 20-year period from the government commissioning and will apply incremental price cuts.Electricity Tariffs initially has been set at 48.1 cents per kilowatt hour for solar powersupplies,8.6 cents per kWh for windenergy, from 9.6 to 8.2 cents per kWh for biomass, 8.4 to 6.7 cents per kWh for geothermal and 7.2 to 6.3 cents per kWh for hydropower.
The german solar energy market has generated a total revenue of over 700 million euros in 2003.The German Photovoltaik sector generates at present time around 9 000 jobs in production, distribution and installation.
The
Government provided, through its KfW Bank, lendings around
1.5 billion euros for the production of PV systems under a 100,000 Roofing Program, which has terminated at the end of
2008.Loans are still available,under diffrent
